Demonstrate That You Have the Money

Again, communicate you have the money indirectly. You can do this by dressing well or diving into the dealership in a classy car. This demonstrates that you have the ability to purchase the car. I know many buyers think that acting like they don’t have money gets them the best deal. Wrong! Looking like a pauper in front of the dealer is a turn-off (they assume you are wasting their time).  This might sound unbelievable but it is the reality, poor people always pay higher prices. Yes, they do! The rich don’t waste money.

Act Like a Knowledgeable Buyer

Act like a knowledgeable buyer who has all the information about the car he’s looking for and its price at the tip of his fingers. This requires skill.  Salespeople respect a person that seems smarter than they are, and are more likely to make a reduction for someone who is true rather than one that is pretending about their knowledge. This might sound strange but the reality is poor people almost always pay higher prices for the car. Therefore, don’t act like a confused fellow, act like the king.

Play With Their Psychology

Convince them that the market for the particular vehicle you want is actually lower than they thought it was. This won’t be a walk in the park. The dealers in your area are in constant communication with one another therefore don’t drop names without backing. Play it smart. Quote their buying price (They are all over the internet anyway). Claim that they sold another unit at a lower price that what they are quoting (Be sure about this though). Find some brilliant reason to have the price reduced.  Be patient. Come out as a little bit irritating, persistent and stubborn, but always courteous, promising and witty. You will win.

Get the Boss to Come Down

Get the boss come down to talk to you. Use your wits and confidence to earn the respect of closing the deal with the boss. Remember that the agents may have their own personal issues to deal with before serving you and this can affect their reaction towards you.

Test Drive the Car

Never bargain over a unit you have not tested.

Good luck as you venture into automobile hunt!
