BMW is a German company founded in the year 1916. Its original name was Bayerische Motoren Werke or Bavarian Motor Works abbreviated as BMW
The BMW has its headquarter in Munich, Bavaria. The headquarters’ design represents the shape and design of BMW’s famous four-cylinder engines.
Interestingly, BMW didn’t originally commence as a motor vehicle company. Actually, the company began as an airplane-engine manufacturer; apart from manufacturing a range of other items such as household and agricultural equipment together with railway components.
BMW aircraft engines were highly favoured because of their fuel economy and exemplary performance at high altitude.

The Treaty of Versailles that banned German companies from manufacturing warplanes compelled the company to start manufacturing motor vehicles.

Following a mutual agreement, two companies, Giugiaro and BMW, build a race car together during the 1970s. Giugiaro designed the car while BMW availed part of the suspension and the engine. Everything else was done by Lamborghini.
During the 50s, the two companies were almost taken over by Mercedes. BMW was running bankrupt due to the Cold War. Daimler-Benz, the parent company of Mercedes, tried to takeover BMW but shareholders of BMW were adamant and they swiftly bought back there shares pitying the two companies to date. Later on the company was bought by Quandt.
It will be interesting to find out that BMW manufactured the fastest motorbike in the world in ‘37. They continue to make unique motorbikes to date.
The most UNIQUE FEARTURE OF THE BMW is The grille. This grille is called a kidney grille and was first introduced in 1933.

BMW specializes in luxurious cars that can be afforded by few. A number of celebrities own BMW Range Rovers, BMW X6, BMW i8, BMW i3, BMW iX3 and BMW X5 among others.
The downside of owning the BMW is that the majority of people that own the classic BMW cars and motorbikes find it difficult find spare parts as they are no longer manufactured. Some people have had to order parts directly from the company which is very costly and tedious.
Electrification is quickly becoming a crucial part of the future of urban mobility. BMW is now developing a range of electric vehicles solutions to drive this change.
